About the Business
The Pen Shop is Europe's largest writing instrument specialist and one of only two pen shop chains in the world. The company started in 1858 when the first T & G Allan store was set up in Newcastle by local brothers Thomas and George Allan. The Pen Shop head office is still based in the North East and has several Allan family members on the board of directors. The Pen Shop has 19 branches nationwide including stand alone shops, concessions in department stores: Debenhams and House of Fraser.
The Pen Shop stocks a wide range of luxury and premium pen brands, including Mont Blanc, Caran d'Ache, Graf von Faber Castell, Cross, Lamy, Sheaffer, Parker and Waterman, together with an extensive range of gifts and leather accessories. In addition to our retail outlets, The Pen Shop services the business community through our Corporate division and our E-Commerce division looks after telephone and internet orders.
