About the Business
In 2001 Catherine and Richard, with their many years of retail and sales experience and with Cath's flair for buying, decided to open a card and gift shop in Milnrow Rochdale and The Card House was born. After 2 successful years of working in the industry and bringing on board Cath's daughter Becky the time was right for expansion. After looking at many properties, we found an old furniture shop which stood empty in Ashton in Makerfield and the decision was made, papers signed and hands shaken it was now time to make our new baby come to life. So with the help of Marjorie and Brian (Caths mum and dad) we started to slat wall everything out and buy new fixtures and fittings and a counter.
Then the all important job of recruiting staff and buying stock began so after many interviews we took on two full timers and two part timers of which Angie still remains.
