About the Business
We are a small independent business based in Tavistock, West Devon, who believe deeply in the principles of trading fairly and doing what we can to take care of our planet and each other. All our suppliers are long-established fairtrade businesses and either members of the World Fair Trade Organisation or similar fairtrade regulators, such as BAFTS. Many of their products are produced from recycled or natural materials with an eye on sustainability and environmental impact. Traditional techniques, from wood carving and metal working, to embroidery and felt making, are also being preserved with the encouragement of these fairtrade associations.
We also source beautiful unique gifts, art and homewares from craftspeople in the UK, particularly Devon and Cornwall, as we believe in supporting our local community as well as our global one. Here and Far started life as an online shop, with regular attendance at local markets and festivals in Devon and Cornwall.
